Blogger Buddy

Here is an afterthought I did not discuss in my previous post. I'll be keeping up with this on more of a regular basis since installing a Vista widget called "Blogger Buddy". As much as I am disconcerted over Vista, I actually do enjoy the widgets ;-) - they're pretty convenient. So, with Blogger Buddy a small window remains within the gadget bar and it simply provides an open text area for you to write into (as I am doing this very moment), and then an option for "Post" and "Preview". Pretty darn simple. There are options for your choice of font & the addition of a picture or a link. Not a bad little app.

The other app I also like works with "Tracking the Eye"; a hurricane & tropical storm tracking program. This widget currently has Tropical Storm Fay listed on the widget in my gadget bar. All I have to do is click on it and I will be directed to the "Tracking the Eye" software program, which will open up and display the storm system and it's path (all in real time), with many other delectable visual functions. A few years ago I remember you had to subscribe to the service, which I did, living in Florida and being the nerd that I am. However, it does not appear that you need to do that now to enjoy the functionality of the program that one would want to use. This is good, considering the price of gas, and everything else going up (except for my salary!) I wasn't planning on subscribing to it this year. I think it's called "Hurricane Tracker" when you search the Vista Gadgets. I can't believe I'm saying something positive about Vista. Actually, Vista is very visually appealing, which is what sucked me into it to begin with. The added security functions, with myself being the sole user of my PC, are really quite a bit much. One shouldn't have to fish through books on the OS learning how to tweak settings. I have enough going on in my life besides having to dink around with that. But from the aesthetic perspective, Vista does get two thumbs up from me (and two toes up from Boo Boo!).
